In addition to preventative care, we are happy to offer comprehensive diagnostic care at our state-of-the-art facility at Founders Green Animal Hospital. Our services include our in-house laboratory, diagnostic imaging, allergies and dermatology, and otoscopic exams.
Laboratory Services
During your pet’s physical examination, we run tests to get a complete picture of their health and monitor changes over time. We will send out most of our tests to a laboratory facility which will take around 48 hours to get results back.
Some of the most common tests that we perform are:
- Complete Blood Count
- Blood chemistry panel
- Electrolyte testing
- Thyroid gland tests
- Urinalysis
- Fecal tests
These tests allow us to look for and diagnose the following:
- Inflammation or infection
- Anemia
- Organ function
- Hydration levels

Digital Radiography
Apart from our in-house lab, we can conduct digital imaging, which is a great way to look at bones and internal organs. Radiology and diagnostic imaging allow our expert team to diagnose a variety of diseases, including cardiac disease, respiratory issues, GI disorders, renal disease, bladder stones, urinary tract disease, tumors, musculoskeletal disorders, and arthritis.
Taking digital x-rays is a quick and painless procedure that is critical in diagnosing these issues. We might recommend x-rays in a variety of situations, both routine appointments and during an emergency. Digital x-rays during an emergency can help identify the location and position of foreign bodies, tumors, and fractures.
Digital x-rays rather than film x-rays allow us to get clearer and more accurate photos much quicker. Your pet is exposed to much less radiation and we can easily store and send files electronically.
We send all of our radiographs to be assessed by a board certified radiologist.
Ultrasound
Another form of diagnostic imaging is through ultrasounds, which use sound waves to create videos and images of fluid-filled structures and soft tissues. Ultrasounds can be used to look at any internal organ, and to identify foreign bodies, tumors, and other diseases or disorders.
Ophthalmic Testing
Veterinary ophthalmology focuses on eye care and ocular disease prevention. Annual pet vision exams evaluate current eye health, measuring tear production, eye pressure, and potential corneal scratches. If more serious issues are detected, such as glaucoma, cataracts, early vision loss, or dry eye problems, they will be addressed and treatment will be planned. During treatment planning, all options and recommendations will be thoroughly discussed so we can build an effective and comfortable vision procedure for you and your pet.
